Vivid Motion collaborated with VeSync to introduce their company along with their brands and diverse line of smart home products.
VIVID MOTION x VESYNC
The 3D animations were designed to work alongside the script and live-action shots produced by VeSync’s media production team. The concept features a series of rooms that showcase various VeSync Brands & Products working together in your Smart Home.
The initial challenge was creating a roadmap and a plan to execute our vision while also making sure that everything we create is tailored to the script & story. We came up with a stacked layout with 3 distinct rooms that would work alongside the script while at the same time create a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior, showing a “Smart Home Connected” neighbourhood.
After a few solid rounds of moodboards and concepts we’ve started testing various renderers and stylistic choices to arrive to the look&feel that is aligned with the brand goals. After this stage we worked to create a series of static concepts that can communicate the visual look&feel to the client.
Once VeSync signed-off on the look&feel of the static concepts we started animating them one by one in isolated scenes, testing different timings and effects.
One of the most interesting challenges surrounding this project was creating a full animation that highlights everything required from a storyboard perspective while at the same time combining complex indoor&outdoor scenes into a single cohesive story.
Other requirements were of course related to runtime as well as an ability to extract components and isolated scenes in the future and re-use them in other marketing campaigns.
The final part of this project was creating a UI animation intended to highlight VeSync’s recent major App refresh while also showcasing new features and most commonly used existing features in a playful and interactive format.
The style required for the UI animation had a slightly different tonality, and it’s usage is restricted to a specific portion of the script where live-action shots and UI shots are presented in an alternate manner, intended to educate the customer on all the different usage possibilities.
